Figgjo Flint
The Norwegian tableware factory Figgjo Flint is a true icon of Scandinavian design. It was founded in 1941 in the town of Figgjo, near Stavanger, and is today the only remaining porcelain factory in the Nordics.
What makes Figgjo Flint so special is the combination of craftsmanship and modernity. In the 1960s and 70s, the factory made its international breakthrough with colourful, playful designs by designers such as Turi Gramstad Oliver and Kåre Berven Fjeldsaa . Think of collections such as Market , Lotte , Tor Viking and Clupea — often with hand-drawn illustrations, fresh colours and a good dose of charm.
Figgjo now focuses mainly on the professional market, such as hotels and restaurants, and is known for its durable, chip-resistant porcelain. They still produce everything at their original location, with an eye for sustainability and craftsmanship.
