Arzberg
The German tableware factory Arzberg was founded in 1887 in the Bavarian town of the same name. What began as a traditional porcelain factory grew into an icon of modern, functional design. Arzberg achieved international fame with the timeless model Form 1382 , designed by Hermann Gretsch in 1931. This tableware was revolutionary: sleek, functional and designed for everyday use — a departure from the elegant porcelain of the time.
Later, other popular lines followed, such as Form 2000 , Tric , Joyn and Cucina , each with their own colour palette and design. Arzberg was known for its durable quality and bright, white porcelain, often combined with fresh colours or minimalist decorations .
In 2013, Arzberg was acquired by Rosenthal GmbH , and since April 2024, the collections have been housed under the Rosenthal and Thomas brands. The designs will continue to exist, but will have a new brand mark on the bottom.
